Autumn Yoga Flow: Grounding October
As the seasons shift, autumn invites us to slow down, soften, and turn inward. This small group class blends gentle slow flow with nourishing yin postures, creating space to integrate the lessons of summer while preparing for the quieter months ahead. In the wisdom of the season, autumn is linked to the lungs and the process of release — letting go of what no longer serves, including sadness or grief, and transforming it into breath, clarity, and nourishment. Through mindful movement, breath awareness, and stillness, we’ll support the body, heart, and spirit in finding balance and ease. This is a cozy, reflective practice suitable for all levels.self.
Week 1 — Rooting into the Season
Gentle standing poses and slow flows to connect with the earth.
Breath awareness to cultivate grounding and stability.
Theme: “Find your roots before the leaves fall.”
Week 2 — Letting Go
Yin postures to open the lungs and release tension.
Focus on exhalation and softening of the heart and chest.
Theme: “Release what no longer serves you.”
Week 3 — Balancing Body & Mind
Flow sequences combined with gentle twists and lateral stretches.
Practice balance and centering through breath and mindful movement.
Theme: “Cultivate steadiness in the midst of change.”
Week 4 — Harvesting Awareness

Reflection on lessons from summer and what you want to carry into winter.
Theme: “Gather clarity, presence, and ease before the quiet months.”
❄️✨ Breathe into Winter : Pranayama & Gentle Yoga (November–December)✨❄️
As the season turns damp and dark, this 5-week series offers a warm and gentle space to nurture body and spirit. Each Sunday we’ll explore pranayama (breath practices) alongside simple yoga postures, supporting balance, clarity, and inner warmth through the winter months. No experience needed — just a willingness to slow down, breathe deeply, and tend to your own wellbeing.
Week 1 — Foundations of Breath (Prāṇa & Awareness)
Introduce the role of breath in yoga and life.
Practice simple awareness: natural breath, diaphragmatic breathing.
Gentle āsanas to open the lungs and chest.
Theme: “Breath as the bridge between body, mind, and spirit.”
Week 2 — Balancing the Flow (Nāḍī Śodhana)
Teach Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) to purify and balance Ida & Pingala nadis.
Postures to support openness of the spine and lungs.
Theme: “Finding harmony in duality — sun and moon, inhale and exhale, inner and outer.”
Week 3 — Energizing & Centering (Kapalabhāti & Ujjāyī)
Introduce Kapalabhati (Skull Shining Breath) gently, and/or Ujjayi (Ocean Breath).
Gentle warming postures for circulation.
Theme: “Kindling inner fire and cultivating clarity.”
Week 4 — Cooling & Calming (Śītalī / Śītkārī)
Introduce cooling pranayamas (Sitali or Sitkari), with awareness of how breath shifts inner states.
Yin-style postures to relax.
Theme: “Soothing the system, finding ease in the heart.”
Week 5 — Moving Toward Stillness (Bhrāmarī & Silent Breath)
Teach Bhramari (Humming Bee Breath) for calming the mind.
Transition toward subtle awareness: lengthening exhalation, sensing pauses, quiet meditation.
Theme: “Breath dissolving into silence.”
Standing Meditation & Taichi
In Tai Chi, we do not train the body alone.
We cultivate the spirit, refine the breath, and return the heart to stillness.
This four-class series offers a doorway into the classical foundations of Tai Chi, beginning with the most essential: standing. Through standing meditation (站桩 zhàn zhuāng), we learn to settle the body, quiet the mind, and feel the subtle flow of Qi.
Then, movement arises—not from force, but from connection.
Each gesture flows from the ground, passes through the center, and extends outward like water guided by the contours of a stream.
Together, we will explore:
🌿 Rooting and aligning the body with the earth
🌿 Moving with softness, intention, and natural breath
🌿 The principle of song (鬆) — deep release without collapse
we return to our original nature: balanced, quiet, alive.
No experience needed. All bodies, all ages welcome. Come with sincerity; leave with a deeper sense of harmony.
