Root & Restore: Autumn yoga & primal moves

As the season shifts and energy turns inward, join us for a grounding 4-week series designed to move rust out of the joints, build steady confidence, and anchor the mind.

This class thoughtfully bridges the mindful Slow Flow Yoga with gentle, functional Primal Movement—the natural, naturalistic patterns our bodies were built for (reaching, twisting, low-to-the-ground weight bearing, and soft spatial exploration). Movement is approached with ease, stability, awareness.

What to Expect

  • Joint Freedom & Functional Mobility: Gentle floor work and supported transitional movements to release hip tightness, soften the lower back, and improve balance.

  • Deep, Calming Breathwork (Pranayama): Extensive guided breath practices interwoven throughout class to settle the nervous system, lower stress, and create an enduring sense of inner warmth.

  • Accessible Primal Flow: Earth-connected, fluid movements that build functional core strength and body awareness without complex poses or aggressive straining.

  • Deep Seasonal Rest: Each session closes with extended, supported stillness and soothing breath regulation to leave you feeling grounded, clear, and deeply restored for the fall ahead.

The Art of the Basics- Taichi Foundation

Most Tai Chi classes move fast — learn the next move, memorize the sequence, keep up with the group. This series is different.

We slow way down.

Before we add more moves, we focus on how your body actually feels when you stand, breathe, and shift your weight. That means we spend real time on the stuff that usually gets skipped — like what "relax your shoulders" actually means in your body, and how a movement can feel effortless instead of forced.

We start with Zhan Zhuang (站桩) — Standing Meditation. This is the foundational practice of the whole series. It sounds almost too simple: just stand still. But learning to settle your weight, soften your joints, and actually feel what your body is doing from the inside — that's the real work. Most teachers skip past this, but it's honestly the thing that makes everything else click. We'll come back to it every class.

From there, movement comes naturally — not as a choreography to memorize, but as something that starts to make sense from the inside out.

Over these 4 classes we'll work on:

  • 🌿 Zhan Zhuang standing practice as your foundation — body aligned, mind settled, breath easy

  • 🌿 How to root and align your body so movement feels stable and natural

  • 🌿 Moving slowly with intention — not stiff, not floppy, but connected

  • 🌿 Learning to release tension without losing your structure (this one's a game changer)

No experience needed. All ages and bodies welcome. Just come curious and ready to pay attention to the small stuff — that's where the real learning happens.
